Scrimber CSC Schweiz AG

Scrimber CSC is developing a technology to process low-grade and underutilised wood assortments into a high-performance, structurally load-bearing building material: Scrimber. The Scrimber technology enables more of the tree to be used (90% rather than 30%) and is designed to be re-used at the end of life. In the future it is hoped that waste wood can be used as input material.

Nexus by Sweden

Nexus by Sweden offers a bespoke and compact nature-based wastewater treatment solution for on-site, decentralized, water treatment and recovery. The solution employs natural treatment methods that replicate the process occurring in wetlands without the need for chemical interventions.Nexus by Sweden’s treatment system promotes water reuse (either on- or off-site) and reduces sludge production.

KLIMIS

KLIMIS has developed a method to produce barbecue briquettes from olive pits. The company has a long heritage of using olive pits as fuel for heating limestone to produce quicklime for construction and agriculture purposes. The new process, invented in 1992, re-uses and up-cycling the combusted olive pits to create odourless and smokeless barbecue briquettes.
